Bogut ruled out for NBA Warriors

Australian centre Andrew Bogut has been forced to sit out of the Golden State Warriors' NBA clash with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Warriors announced minutes before the team took to the court in Los Angeles on Saturday that Bogut was going to rest the right Achilles tendon he strained in Friday's blowout loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Before the announcement Bogut, who has overcome numerous injuries the past four years, told AAP that apart from the Achilles, physically he felt in great shape.

Bogut's withdrawal comes as the Warriors consider bolstering their centre stocks and make a run to sign centre Anderson Varejao, who is scheduled to clear waivers on Sunday after his trade from Cleveland to Portland.
