Basketball prodigy learns painful lesson

A slam dunking basketball prodigy has painfully failed to heed the timeless lesson of never celebrating your achievements too early.

The young boy showed he has the potential to possibly play in the NBA after impressing with a one-handed slam dunk worthy of any highlights reel.

Holding the ball in his right hand, the boy takes a running start before launching himself off a table and throwing down the bucket.

He then celebrates wildly for the camera, roaring with delight as he thumps his fists against his chest.

However, joy soon turns to a painful headache as the force of the dunk brings down the toy hoop down on top of the boy's head with an audible bang.

It's not known whether the youngster was injured in the incident or whether he's rethinking his basketball dreams.
