Baseballer claims brilliant diving catch

Toronto Blue Jays centre fielder Kevin Pellar has claimed a brilliant highlights reel catch during a MLB clash with the Minnesota Twins.

Pellar had to chase hard to his right after Twins hitter Miguel Sano let fly with a lusty hit that looked as if it would clear his head.

But showing outstanding athleticism, the Blue Jays star managed to get close enough to the ball to dive full length and to a stunning overhead catch.

The play was hailed by commentators, who raved about Pellar's renowned catching ability.

"Boy he timed his leap perfectly," one caller said.

"That was over his head about to hit on the track.

"Pellar has been doing this all season. (It's) another highlights reel play by the centre field player Kevin Pellar."
