Baseball umpire takes nasty hit to groin

A Korean baseball umpire has been carted from the field after taking a foul ball to the groin.

The umpire was helping to officiate a game between SK Wyverns and the Lotte Giants when a foul-tip off the bat of one of the Wyverns ricocheted off the edge of the catcher's glove and directly into his groin.The force of the impact was felt immediately, with the umpire crumbling to the ground in agony as concerned players and medics came to his aid.He was eventually taken from the field on a stretcher, forcing a delay in the match and serving as a nasty reminder that baseball can in fact be a brutal contact sport.
