Baseball fan makes megaphone home run catch

Baseball fans have long been known to take a catchers’ mitt with them to games just in case a fly ball comes their way in the stands.

But this college baseball fan decided to improvise and its gone viral.

During East Carolina University’s 8-6 win over Liberty at Clark-LeClair stadium, Dwayna Williams-Sutton hit a homer.

As the ball went high, the outfielder back peddled to the back fence unsure about the ball’s trajectory.

As he made it to the back fence he realised the ball was well clear and was destined to land in “The Jungle” – the area marked out for die-hard fans beyond ECU’s outfield barrier.

Then one fan had the awareness to grab a megaphone and tilt it in the direction the ball was flying in from and made a pretty neat catch.

The dude who caught the ball was pretty proud of himself and paraded around holding the megaphone up high like he was about to light the Olympic Cauldron.

Nonetheless it was a mean effort and something definitely worth celebrating.
