Aussies off to winning start in baseball

A strong early pitching effort from Dushan Ruzic has helped Australia score a 9-5 win over Taiwan in their opening game of the Honkbalweek Haarlem baseball tournament in the Netherlands.
Australia got off to a flying start, with Luke Hughes smashing a three-run homer over left field in the first.
Ruzic gave up two earned runs and didn't concede a walk in 5.2 innings pitched.

"Ruzic was outstanding today," Australia team manager Jon Deeble said.
"He threw the ball really well, got ahead of hitters and set us up perfectly for the rest of the game."
Australia's next game is against Japan early Monday (AEST).
