Aussie Ingles hustles to assist

When you think about Australians featuring in the NBA, immediately the likes of Patty Mills, Matthew Dellavedova and Andrew Bogut come to mind.

But keep your eye on Joe Ingles.

The South Australian is among the league’s most accurate three-point shooters and has impressed for the Utah Jazz this season.

During a recent one-point loss to the Sacramento Kings, Ingles had an off night from beyond the arc but pulled off what was  probably the play of the game.

Ingles was jostling for the  ball on the hardwood with Kings’ shooting guard Arron Afflalo and showed tremendous hustle in ripping the ball free from Afflalo’s grasp.

As the Jazz small forward swung around he realised teammate Gordon Hayward was making his way up the floor and threw a one handed pass which landed in the right spot for Hayward to make the easy basket.

NBA pundits have already hailed the play a contender for the assist of the year.
