Aussie cyclist Rohan Dennis in hot water after flouting Spain's strict coronavirus lockdown laws
Australian cyclist Rohan Dennis has deleted his Twitter and Instagram profiles after posting a picture of himself in a car seemingly flouting coronavirus lockdown laws.
Dennis posted a photo to his Instagram account with the location mark showing he was in Girona, Spain, with the caption reading: "Day 34 - cracked and left the house #covid19 can suck my a-- and so can quarantine".
After Dennis was challenged for his decision to flout Spain's lockdown laws, he responded to the criticism.
"Or I could show the reality of how s--t the situation is and not be one of your beloved drones who show their 'perfect world' as an elite athlete.
"Which one would you like. Real or fake?"
Dennis is a member of Team Ineos, which has been an active supporter of the COVID-19 crisis, delivering hand sanitiser branded with the team logo.
Spain has been one of the worst affected countries during the entire COVID-19 pandemic, with the virus claiming the lives of over 20,000 people.
The country currently boasts some of the strictest lockdown laws in the world in an attempt to survive the pandemic that has infected almost 200,000 people.
