Up and coming Australian sprint sensation Gout Gout has taken the world by storm.

But it's a powerful five-word statement from the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, that will really have everyone talking.

Gout, who is just 16-years-old, broke Australian Peter Norman's 200m sprint record by two hundreths of a second in the All-School Championships final on Saturday, recording a time of 20.04 seconds.

It's left Norman's family delighted, as well as the rest of Australia, with the best hopefully yet to come on the track.

But most importantly, it's got Bolt watching on.

"He looks like young me," Bolt told Jumpers World, who shared a photo on Instagram of the exchange.

Gout reposted the photo to his Instagram story with a fire emoji.

The 16-year-old could be set to break some of Bolt's world records in the coming years if his recent trajectory continues.

Currently, the Queenslander is the fastest 16-year-old ever and the second all-time in under 18s.

Bolt is below him in both of those areas and didn't start breaking world records until he was 21.

The Jamaican also didn't crack a 200m sprint time under 20.13 seconds as a junior.

The first time the record was broken was at Beijing 2008, where he ran 19.30 seconds to win gold.

Norman's daughter Sandra Kandri, admitted she was relieved to see her dad's 56-year record broken.

"I think he would have been super, super pleased," she told 9News Melbourne.

"He would have been very happy that it's finally gone, because it's been there quite a long time. Athletics is in great hands."
