Archers battle for Olympic spots in China

Australia's Olympic archery line-up will clearer this week when all the contenders compete at the Shanghai World Cup.

Australia has qualified three men and one woman for the Rio Olympics, with the final make- up of the team to be announced next month.

Three-time Olympian Matt Gray, 2012 Olympian Taylor Worth, former world indoor champion Ryan Tyack and Victorian Alec Potts are locked in a four-way battle for the three men's spots.

In the women's draw, Queensland's Semra Ferguson secured Australia's Olympic spot at the Oceania qualifiers in Tonga earlier this month.

Shell be joined in Shanghai by Sunshine Coast pair, 16-year-old Ella Byrne and 21-year-old Chloe Grabs, and Western Australias Alice Ingley.

Australia has also sent a full strength team to compete in the non-Olympic compound event.

The Shanghai World Cup starts on Tuesday and runs through until the weekend.
