'His eyes were everywhere': AFL umpire praised after notifying doctors of Carlton star's concussion
An AFL umpire has been praised after alerting Carlton's medical staff to a potential concussion to young midfielder Will Setterfield in the side's loss to West Coast.
After Setterfield's head hit the turf following a crunching tackle in the second half, umpire Chris Donlan noticed the 21-year-old wasn't quite himself.
"Tell Carlton, Setterfield, he's in a bit of hurt … his eyes were everywhere when he got tackled here," Donlan said.
Setterfield was immediately attended to by the Blues doctors before being taken to the bench for a thorough assessment.

Donlan's actions were praised by Essendon legend Tim Watson who was on commentary for Seven.
"It's great from the umpire isn't it?" he said.
"To spot that and then to notify the medical team of it, because, often, a player can be out there and nobody's aware of the fact that they haven't got all their faculties together."
The umpire looking out for Setterfield's wellbeing came a week after Collingwood defender Brayden Maynard notified his own doctors of teammate Jordan Roughead's concussion on the field during the Round 19 loss to Richmond.
