Tony Jones threatens to walk off set if infamous failed Rebecca Judd clip is played again

Veteran Nine reporter Tony Jones has vowed to walk off the set if the clip of his infamous failed kiss to the cheek of Rebecca Judd is played again.

Jones' failed kiss has been the source of humour for many all over the world, particularly on the AFL Sunday Footy Show, but it appears the veteran journalist is done laughing.

On an appearance with Neil Mitchell on 3AW, Jones explained exactly what he would do if the footage was played again.

"Neil, can I put this on the public record, your show is the most listened to radio show in Melbourne right, but I will say, if I see that played one more time at Channel 9 I will walk off the set," he said.

"I do not want to see that kiss again."

Jones' comments came after Sunday Footy Show co-panellist and Essendon great Matthew Lloyd again took the mickey out of the veteran reporter, showing a clip of Judd greeting a man with a kiss on the cheek on an episode of Postcards.

"Last Sunday night I saw this and a lot of people reached out to me and said, 'How come Bec gave affection to this bloke and not TJ?'," he said before playing the clip.

"Have a look at the warmth there TJ. I know you were watching at home with your family, with Annette, Mitch and your daughter."

Earlier in the year, Jones offered his explanation for the viral video, revealing how a missing bouquet of flowers led to the failed kiss.

"I've put up with that crap for years, and it's not my fault!" he told the Sunday Footy Show.

"Our news director, Hugh Nailon, here at Channel 9 at Melbourne. He didn't organise the flowers. I was supposed to present Bec the flowers.

"And when we realised he'd forgotten to organise the flowers, I said, well I'm going home.

"And then I think John Murphy was the floor manager, he sort of said, you're gonna stay here, you'll stay here and play happy families. Well that was a real happy family, wasn't it?

"So it wasn't my fault."
