Tayla Harris kicks absolute bomb in longest kick content on AFL grand final day

AFLW star Tayla Harris humbled some of the biggest names in the AFL with her efforts in the longest kick contest on grand final day.

The Fox Footy competition is a fan favourite at recent grand finals in Melbourne with players set the challenge of kicking it as far as they can across the Yarra River from Birrarung Marr. The distance is a whopping 75 metres, but Harris proved her starpower with a booming torpedo.

Harris kicked it 61.5 metres, better than six AFL players also taking part in the contest.

"That is a beauty. That is massive," host Jason Dunstall said after watching Harris' boot.

"You know what the best thing about that kick is? Right now there's another 10 blokes in the tent going oh my god we are in trouble.

"That is the purest spiral."

Only Adelaide's Brodie Smith and eventual longest kick contest champion Clayton Oliver were able to beat Harris' effort, with Brisbane's Daniel Rich equalling the mark.
