Swallow stays with Suns in AFL until 2019

Foundation Gold Coast AFL player David Swallow has re-signed with the Suns through until the end of the 2019 season.

It's been a tough few years for the 24-year-old, who failed to play a senior game in 2016 and managed just six games in 2015 after being dogged by on-going knee troubles for the past two years.

Coming back to full fitness, Swallow is hopeful of recapturing the form that saw him snap Gary Ablett's three year stronghold on the club championship when he was awarded the club's best & fairest in 2014.

The midfielder has been in Suns colours since the age of 16, when he first relocated from Perth to play in the club's inaugural VFL team.

He was taken with the No.1 selection in the 2010 AFL Draft ahead of Gold Coast's debut season in the national competition.
