Melbourne star recruit Steven May set to apologise to teammates over drinking session
Melbourne's star recruit Steven May is set to apologise to his teammates after being pictured drinking at a bar on Sunday.
May, who is currently rehabbing a groin injury, is understood to have broken team rules and will front the leadership group to explain the reasons behind his decisions.
Speaking on Footy Classified, AFL reporter Caroline Wilson said that the club will wrap its arms around the defender.
"He's broken team rules by drinking when he's in rehab," he said.

"The club's not happy because of the rehab situation. The Melbourne comment to me is that they're going to wrap their arms around Steven May.
"They're disappointed he's broken team rules. He's dealing with a lot of personal stuff.
"That personal stuff he's going to outline to his teammates tomorrow when he fronts the leadership group and the rest of his teammates."
Following the news of May's actions, former Melbourne coach Paul Roos suggested that 27-year-old wasn't making football a priority.

"What it tells me — and we know we have to be careful because we know players go through difficult times and I don’t know what he’s going through — but what I do know is footy’s not a priority for him. It’s clearly not a priority," Roos told Fox Footy's On The Couch.
"Now what is at the moment? I’m not 100 per cent certain, but it’s clearly not football, let’s be really clear on that … because he wouldn’t be doing that."
The unfortunate incident continues what has been a troubled start for the former Gold Coast Suns skipper.
Melbourne parted ways with the sixth pick in last year's AFL Draft in exchange for the star defender, hoping that he and fellow recruit Jake Lever would form a dynamic defensive duo, but neither has enjoyed a solid start to their careers in Melbourne.
