Security guard breaks up the biff

If a fight is going to break out on a footy field, then what better place to have it than right on the sideline in front of security?

That was the situation the Gold Coast Suns and Brisbane Lions found themselves in during their annual pre-season Q-Clash at Kombumerri Park.

Brisbane's Jack Frost is expected to come under scrutiny from the Match Review Panel for an ugly sling tackle on Gold Coast's Brandon Matera.

Suns players quickly rushed in, unhappy at the treatment that Matera had received, and it wasn't long before both teams for involved in a push-and-shove that spilled over the sideline.

Enter the security guard. He took a break from patrolling the fence and entered the fracas to stop it escalating.

As one of the commentators noted, that was hardly going to be an issue when you consider he was bigger than most of the players.
