St Kilda star Jack Steven is out of their final lineup for Sunday's big AFL clash with Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium.

The Saints added the four-time best-and-fairest midfielder to their initial squad and he trained on Friday.

But there was only one change to the 22, with Ben Long coming in for Luke Dunstan.

After having time off in the pre-season because of mental health issues, Steven returned for their first two wins.

He was left out of last Sunday's narrow loss to Fremantle.

The Hawks recalled key forward Jarryd Roughead for Dylan Moore.

But Hawthorn midfielder Jaeger O'Meara remains in some doubt because of a sore hip.

"We're certainly planning for him to play," Saints coach Alan Richardson said of O'Meara.

"We don't get caught up too much in what someone says ... it's more about what's their best look, what's their best team, what can we control - and that is let's plan as if he's going to play."

Gold Coast and Carlton have also made one change apiece for Sunday's match at Metricon Stadium.

Lachie Weller is out of the Suns team because of an unspecified injury and Ben Ainsworth will take his place.

The Blues will regain star forward Charlie Curnow and Cameron Polson makes way for him.

There were also late changes for Saturday matches, with Bachar Houli dropping out of the depleted Richmond lineup for the away game against Port Adelaide.

He was supposed to return from a hamstring injury, but Connor Menadue will take his place.

Francis Watson has withdrawn from West Coast's emergencies for the Western Derby, with the club citing personal reasons.
