Rance accepts two-match AFL ban

Richmond defender Alex Rance will miss the under-siege Tigers' upcoming AFL matches against Port Adelaide and Hawthorn after accepting a two-match ban for striking Melbourne forward Jack Watts.

Rance has been fiercely criticised for his forearm to the back of Watts' head late in Sunday's match against the Demons at the MCG.

Port Adelaide key backman Jackson Trengove will also sit out the round-six game against Richmond after submitting an early guilty plea and taking a one-match sanction for striking Geelong captain Joel Selwood.

The tribunal will not sit on Tuesday night after all of the players reported in the first eight games of round five pleaded guilty to the charges - the vast majority for being involved in melees.

Collingwood midfielder Levi Greenwood can accept a $1000 fine for punching Essendon skipper Brendon Goddard in the stomach during Monday's Anzac Day clash.

The blow was graded as low impact by the match review panel.

Greenwood was also one of five Magpies and Bombers players charged for their involvement in a melee during the third quarter of the clash won by the Magpies by 69 points.

The others were Collingwood onballer Adam Treloar and Bombers trio David Zaharakis, Connor McKenna and Goddard.
