Caroline Wilson questions holidaying Kangaroos CEO as North Melbourne face critical decisions
AFL insider Caroline Wilson has questioned the leadership the North Melbourne Kangaroos with their CEO going MIA during a critical time for the club.
On Footy Classified, Wilson was puzzled as to why their CEO Carl Dilena was absent from the club on a holiday as the Kangaroos are facing major mid-season decisions.
"Carl Dilena must surely be regretting his strange decision to take a significant mid-season holiday at a time where North Melbourne is at the crossroads," Wilson said.
"The club CEO has taken not one, not two, but three-plus weeks off at a time he has appointed a 37-year-old caretaker coach in charge of the football team, and given the football operations boss his marching orders.
"At a time a widespread review is being conducted at the football club, and while the club is attempting to lure back Premiership coach and former favourite son John Longmire to the club, and all the while, scrutinising Rhyce Shaw's performance.
"My understanding is that the club has not yet even done a revised deal with Rhyce Shaw because no-one has been around to do it.

"Carl, surely something could have been done given the huge stakes. Maybe a shorter break, or maybe even a caretaker CEO put in charge, or is that Glenn Archer, or is Carl Delina the next to go?
"There is more than meets the eye to these strange times at the North Melbourne Football Club."
Since Brad Scott's exit at Kangaroos coach, Shaw has led a rejuvenated squad on a winning run, with finals footy not out of the question.
"I think it's really strange that he's [Dilena] not here at a time that all these significant decisions are being made," Wilson said.
"Say what you like about Rhyce Shaw but there is some chance now that he might get the job. Why isn't Carl here scrutinising his performance?"
Longmire has been linked to a move to the club, but in recent weeks AFL journalists such as Footy Classified's Damian Barrett and Wilson believe 'Horse' is staying put with the Sydney Swans.
