Aaron Hall becomes latest AFL star to step away for 'indefinite' mental health break
Star North Melbourne recruit Aaron Hall has become the latest AFL player to take indefinite leave to focus on his mental health.
News of Hall's leave comes after Collingwood star Dayne Beams revealed he was "a broken man" ahead of his own mental health break.
Kangaroos GM of football Cameron Joyce said that Hall, who was acquired during last year's trade period, would have the club's full support.
"Aaron has our full support as he works through some personal issues," Joyce told the Kangaroos' club website.
Hall's form has been inconsistent at best since his off-season arrival from the Gold Coast Suns AAP
"Aaron has indicated he needs to spend some time away from the club, to focus on his personal well-being and his family."
Since his arrival from the Gold Coast Suns, Hall's form has been indifferent, but Joyce said he expected the 28-year-old to return to football.
“The club and players will do everything to ensure Aaron is supported during this time, and knows he can take as much time as he needs," he said.
“We trust that Aaron’s privacy will be maintained and that people respect his situation and understand how difficult and brave this decision has been for him.”
