'That's a kick': James Hird's outrage as Harley Reid escapes suspension for trip
Former Essendon coach James Hird cannot believe Harley Reid wasn't suspended for tripping Port Adelaide veteran Travis Boak.
The incident occurred in the third quarter of West Coast loss to the Power, with the midfielder sticking out his foot and making contact with Boak's ankle.
The Power midfielder received a free kick and Reid was fined $10,000 by the MRO, down to $6,250 with an early plea.

It was Reid's third tripping offence, hence the escalated penalty.
However, Hird doesn't believe the fine was sufficient, labelling it not just a trip, but a kick.
"It wasn't just a trip, was it, that's a kick," Hird told Nine's Footy Classified.
"When did the game get to a point where you're allowed to kick people and not get weeks?
"That's a kick and he should get three or four weeks for it."

Former Collingwood president Eddie McGuire agreed and was baffled by the lack of a suspension.
"That's four weeks. You can't kick people in football," McGuire said.
"Corey McKernan lost a Brownlow Medal for giving some an ankle tap with his hand.
"Have I lost my mind? Who changed the rules?"
The trip was one of six free kicks given away by Reid in what was a fiery game.
However, he did also star for the Eagles, finding 26 disposals and kicking a goal.
He is free to play in the Eagles' round 19 clash against Richmond.
