Melbourne CEO Gary Pert resigns as drama-filled Demons year continues
The Demons' year of drama has continued with reports the club's CEO Gary Pert has resigned.
The Age reports the Melbourne boss told the club of his departure on Thursday morning, but will stay on until Christmas.
Melbourne's COO David Chippindall will take over as acting CEO, while Pert will be retained in a consultancy role.

The news comes as the club will hand down the findings of two separate reviews into its operations on Friday.
Pert became CEO in 2018 and has overseen a premiership in the men's and women's competitions during that time.

However, since the club's 2021 AFL grand final win, questions about the Demons' culture have been raised, leading to star player Christian Petracca to ask for a trade.
President Kate Roffey decided to step down from her role in September with club great and former Melbourne skipper Brad Green taking over the position.
Roffey came under fire after it was revealed she had little contact with Petracca following his horrific injury suffered against Collingwood in June.
The club came under scrutiny when Petracca returned to the field following the heavy collision with Pies captain Darcy Moore.
Clayton Oliver was also put up for trade with six years remaining on his contract before the club backflipped on the idea.
Roffey initially intended to see out her role as president through to the end of 2025.
"I asked [Pert] what a succession plan might look like and the conversations flowed from there," president Green told The Age.
"I then asked him if he would consider staying on [to complete] Caulfield because we are that close to getting that high-performance centre done.
'From our point of view it's a normal transition."
