The Adelaide Crows have announced significant changes to their line-up for Thursday night's crucial match against Melbourne in a bid to turn their fortunes around.

Jordon Butts, Patrick Purnell, Brayden Cook, Sam Berry and Luke Nankervis have been added to Adelaide's squad, replacing James Borlase (omitted), Lachlan Sholl (omitted), Lachlan Murphy (injured), Luke Pedlar (omitted) and Wayne Milera (injured).

Key forward Darcy Fogarty said his team would put niceties aside for the game.

"We're going to go in with the hunter mentality this week and try and throw the first punch," Fogarty said.

Skipper Jordan Dawson said he believed the Crows were on track to turn things around after the disastrous loss last week.

"The second half we probably struggled to show our intent in and around the ball," he said.

"We'll definitely get back to that tomorrow night."

Fogarty has admitted he needs to reinvigorate his game after he returned two goals last week, and has scored four in total so far in the three games this season.

"It's not clicking for me at the moment, but I'm confident I'm not far off, and hopefully it all gels soon," Forgarty said.

"I'm doing the hard stuff, competing and working hard."
