Geelong's fifth straight win soured by fresh Patrick Dangerfield injury scare
Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield is sweating on scans after being forced out of his side's win over Adelaide with a hamstring injury.
Dangerfield was forced from the field in the third quarter as Geelong survived a scare against a red-hot Crows side before running out 14. 14. (98) to 11. 6. (72) winners.
The former Brownlow Medal winner sent a major scare through the Geelong camp when he came off, but was optimistic the injury was on the minor end after dealing with hamstring issues in the early part of last season.

"It's not too bad. I was genuinely jogging and all of a sudden I felt a bit of hamstring awareness and I (thought) I'd done it," Dangerfield told Cats great Cameron Mooney on Fox Footy's coverage.

"Hopefully it's on the minor scale. Having done one before and on the belly, this one doesn't feel like that.
"It's not worth the risk a minute into the second half. Thankfully the guys finished off with a really solid game against a team that's playing good footy.
"We'll scan it tomorrow and reassess where it's at. It feels minor, but you can never really tell with these things.
"I'm on the wrong side of 30 so we'll stay on the conservative side and see how it goes."

Geelong was led by star defender Tom Stewart, who finished with 24 disposals and eight marks, while Coleman Medal leader Jeremy Cameron finished with three goals.
Crows skipper Jordan Dawson was outstanding once again with 29 disposals, while veteran forward Taylor Walker kicked three majors.
The win was Geelong's fifth straight after an 0-3 start to the year, pushing the reigning premiers into the top four, while Adelaide slid down to ninth on the ladder.
Geelong will face Richmond next week in a blockbuster Friday night clash, while the Crows will return home to host St Kilda on Sunday afternoon.
