Liam Jones officially nominates Western Bulldogs as club of choice ahead of AFL return
Liam Jones has officially nominated the Western Bulldogs as his club of choice as he prepares to return to the game after a 12-month absence.
Jones became eligible to be signed by a club as an unrestricted free agent this summer after quitting Carlton due to his COVID-19 vaccination stance prior to the 2022 season.
The 31-year-old met with a number of clubs but has decided to join the Bulldogs, where he began his AFL career, playing 66 games between 2009 and 2014.

"We've met with several clubs over the last couple of months and it's got to the point of declaring the Western Bulldogs as where he will nominate for once the free agency period begins," Jones' manager, Shane Casley, told AFL.com.au.

"He's prepared himself in the QAFL, is raring to go and is looking forward to getting back into the AFL."
Jones' arrival is one part of what's set to be a busy off-season for the Bulldogs after a disappointing elimination final exit at the hands of Fremantle.
Fremantle forward Rory Lobb has requested a trade to the Bulldogs, despite having a year to run on his current deal.
Bulldogs midfielder Josh Dunkley is yet to re-sign with the club, and is widely expected to request a trade to an interstate club that is believed to be the Brisbane Lions.
