Lin Jong's cruel injury woes have continued after he suffered a hamstring injury just a quarter into his comeback game with the Western Bulldogs.

The 27-year-old has endured a wretched run since making his debut back in 2012, with injuries restricting him to just 64 games in 10 seasons.

Jong was a mainstay in the Bulldogs' side in their premiership year in 2016 before cruelly breaking his collarbone in the elimination final against the West Coast Eagles.

Two broken collarbones, a broken jaw, an ACL tear and a ruptured appendix have all played a part in him missing 38 games since 2017.

After playing just three games in 2020, Jong collected four disposals and had a shot on goal before injuring his hamstring in a contest on the wing against the GWS Giants.

The midfielder was left devastated and immediately clutched behind his right leg before being helped off the ground as he fought tears.

The luckless Jong's injury resulted in an outpouring of emotion on social media.

Jong was eventually replaced by Western Bulldogs injury substitute Lachie McNeil before quarter-time, and he wasn't the only player to suffer due to the freezing conditions.

Giants star defender Nick Haynes also suffered his own hamstring injury and was replaced by youngster Tanner Bruhn late in the first quarter of the match.
