Lewis Jetta offered one-week AFL ban

West Coast flyer Lewis Jetta has been offered a one-match suspension by the AFL match review panel for a heavy tackle which concussed Melbourne forward Tim Smith.

Smith wrongly thought the umpire had blown the whistle and stopped during the final quarter of Friday night's match at Optus Stadium which the Eagles won by 17 points.

Jetta pinned the stationary Smith's arms in the tackle while slamming him to the turf.

The MRP charged the veteran Eagle with engaging in rough conduct, deeming the incident to be careless conduct with medium impact and high contact.

Unless Jetta successfully challenges the charge at the tribunal he will miss the round-10 clash away to Adelaide.

Fellow Eagle Elliot Yeo was fined $1000 for misconduct after pushing Demon James Harmes into the path of an umpire.

Smith was one of three Demons concussed in the loss to the Eagles, with Christian Salem and Alex Neal-Bullen also in doubt for the MCG clash against GWS on May 26.
