In-demand young Collingwood star Jordan De Goey has hinted at wanting to remain a Magpie as clubs line up for his services.

In February, De Goey was dealt a severe punishment by the club after he was caught drink-driving, the latest in a string of embarrassing off-field incidents.

De Goey, 22, copped $20,000 in fines, $10,000 of which was given to charity, was put on a booze ban and served an "indefinite suspension" from AFL selection and was not in the frame for an AFL game until "he had convinced his peers and coaches that meaningful change has occurred, and that his standards have risen to those of the group".

Fast forward a few months and De Goey is kicking goals in the AFL again, and turning heads of prospective new clubs keen to snap him up.

"It's going alright, can't complain the team's playing well just need to keep that consistency up," De Goey told Nine News Melbourne on Wednesday.

North Melbourne and St Kilda are among those clubs seeking to make a deal with De Goey, with the Kangaroos rumoured to be offering as much as $800,000 a year.

De Goey told Nine News he is wanting to repay the faith that Collingwood showed in helping him overcome his biggest career hurdles.

"I'm really happy here, I just want to continue to play some good footy and we'll work that part out later in the year," De Goey said.
