Jaeger O'Meara left with facial fracture after nasty head knock in contact training session
Hawthorn's preparations for the AFL season restart have been dealt a blow with Jaeger O'Meara suffering a fracture above his eyebrow in contact training.
O'Meara sustained the head knock at training yesterday but has escaped serious damage and will not be required to have surgery.
The vice-captain will be forced to sit out of the Hawks' contact training sessions in the coming days as he recovers from the knock.
While it remains to be seen whether O'Meara is fit to face Geelong on June 12, the 26-year-old will be reassessed at the end of next week.

Hawthorn's GM of football Graham Wright said that the star midfielder was lucky to escape any major damage in the incident.
"Jaeger copped a knock just above his eyebrow in yesterday's session and scans revealed a minor fracture," he said.
"Fortunately for both Jaeger and the club, he won't require surgery and it won't impact his ability to train.
"He will continue to train with the group, albeit we will take a cautious approach to his contact work while the fracture heals itself."
