Port Adelaide defender Hamish Hartlett stretchered off after sickening head clash

Port Adelaide defender Hamish Hartlett has been stretchered off the ground following a sickening head clash with Cats star Patrick Dangerfield.

Hartlett was attempting to spoil a kick intended to a leading Dangerfield at the Cats' 50m line when he collided with the 2016 Brownlow Medallist in the early part of the second quarter at the Adelaide Oval.

Dangerfield was unaffected by the blow, getting straight back up, but Hartlett had a stream of blood gushing from his face.

The 27-year-old veteran was attended to immediately by Port's doctors and eventually put on a stretcher and taken back to the locker room.

The sickening head clash between the two stars prompted fans to wonder how Dangerfield came off unaffected.
