Greater Western Sydney hope to bring more AFL games and international cricket matches to Canberra with a proposed $800-million redevelopment of Manuka Oval.
The unsolicited eight-year plan submitted to the ACT Government by a private consortium, led by the Giants, will see the ground upgraded to world-class standards to include residential units, offices, retail space and a hotel in the surrounding precinct.

"This will make it a much more attractive venue for the Giants to play in as it will for cricket," club chairman Tony Shepherd told reporters on Wednesday.
