'A lot of tension': GWS Giants coach Leon Cameron and GM Wayne Campbell set to come under scrutiny in review
GWS Giants coach Leon Cameron and general manager Wayne Campbell are set to come under pressure in an extensive review following the end of the season.
Club director Jimmy Bartel raised eyebrows on Monday, when he stated that Campbell's role as well as the roles of those below him will be reviewed. The Giants' coaching staff, including Cameron, will also be subjected to the review.
The Giants have once again been crippled by injuries, with the likes of Stephen Coniglio and Josh Kelly missing significant chunks of the season, and AFL reporter Caroline Wilson said the spate of injuries had left Campbell feeling like a "scapegoat".
"There's definitely a lot of tension there still," Wilson told Footy Classified.

"(Bartel) is articulating what a lot of people have been saying about the Giants for a long time that they can't just keep finishing between third and sixth.
"He talked a lot about the medical issues and the problems they've had with injuries.
"I think Wayne Campbell certainly feels like he might be the scapegoat for the problems they've had with those injuries and the medical issues."
Bartel's comments came on The Age's Real Footy podcast, where he touched on the club once again suffering more injuries than most of its rivals.
"If we finish where we do finish, which has been the same spot we have the last couple of years, and with the amount of injuries we keep having which is above the average by so far, we have to review all of that," he said.

"How can we get better so we don't finish between third and sixth each year?
"That doesn't necessarily mean Wayne Campbell is out the door, it just means we're reviewing everything that is going on underneath him and what he's doing."
While admitting that Bartel's comments came following a valid question from Wilson on the podcast, Carlton director Chris Judd questioned the timing of the public commentary.
"The challenge is that you don't get to ask your own questions," Judd told Footy Classified.
"Caro asked an appropriate question and they have had some injury concerns for an extended period of time.
"Certainly leading into finals, it would be ideal to leave that conversation for post-finals talk."
