Gary Ablett's forward renaissance continues as Geelong dominate West Coast Eagles
Gary Ablett has turned back the clock over the past two weeks and continued his scintillating form as Geelong went a game clear at the top of the AFL ladder.
Ablett was instrumental in what seemed like all of the Cats' forward line entries, finishing with 28 disposals and two goals as the Cats smashed the Eagles 15. 14. (104) to 7. 4. (46) at GMHBA Stadium.
Following the win, Ablett told Fox Footy that the Cats' pressure around the ground was the vital factor in the win.
"It was a really good performance," he said.

"They're the reigning premiers and we knew it was going to be a tough match. We knew going into the game that they wanted to control (the game).
"They're a very good contested ball side so we knew if we brought our pressure game, we could get them out the back and score."
After a slow start to the season, Ablett has fully adjusted to his new role in the forward line and revealed his joy at being able to set up his teammates.
"I'm loving it," he said of his new role.
The Eagles' dirty day was epitomised by the head clash that left Liam Ryan bruised and bloodied AAP
"We've got such a good group down there that just want to defend first.
"I don't know how many guys scored goals tonight, but there was a real spread and that's fantastic. It's great that everyone's getting the rewards."
Ablett notably connected regularly with new recruit Gary Rohan who once again proved to be a force up forward with four straight goals.
Rohan has transformed the Cats forward line since his arrival from Sydney, kicking 15 goals so far this season, having already topped last year's total, and Ablett touched on the connection between the pair.

"He's really good," he said.
"He's up at the ball and we spent a whole pre-season training together so we understand each other's running patterns and that's really important.
"It's good to see him kick some goals tonight."
The Eagles were best served by skipper Shannon Hurn, midfielders Elliot Yeo and Andrew Gaff and ruckman Tom Hickey.
