Former AFL star Barry Hall punches opposition players in QAFL grand final

Vision has emerged of former AFL star Barry Hall striking opposition players during the QAFL grand final last weekend.

Hall was playing for Labrador against Palm Beach-Currumbin when he lashed out at a member of the other team after losing the ball in a tackle.

Footage shows the former premiership captain take a swing at an opponent's face which resulted in the player falling to the ground.

When other Palm Beach-Currumbin players ran over to check on their teammate, Hall was confronted by another player and punched him too.

Melbourne radio station SEN reported the former star received a one game ban for both clashes but it’s also been said that Hall will retire from competitive football.

The full-forward expressed remorse earlier this year in an interview with Brent Staker, the West Coast player he punched during a game in 2008.

He was suspended for seven games as a result and admitted he was prone to such outbursts during this career.

''It was a confronting thing. You (Staker) shouldn’t have to deal with it a football player,’’ Hall said in June.

''I was going to say it was a one-off incident but it wasn’t. it is something that continually happened through my career.

''If I could take it back I certainly would. I apologised on the phone to (Staker) but if I could take it back I certainly would, a thousand times over.’’
