Daw sprints away for classy goal
The Kangaroos' Majak Daw has taken a giant step in earning a new contract after scoring a stunning catch-and-spin runaway goal against the Tigers.
Starting as North Melbourne's No.1 ruckman after the club made nine changes to the side, Daw impressed with a 25-hit-out, eight tackle performance in the 16.12 (108) to 10.7 (67) win.
However, the highlight of the 24-year-old's night came early in the first quarter when he raced onto a clearing kick from deep within Kangaroo's territory.
Running onto the ball, the Sudan-born Daw out-jumped his rival and took the mark only to immediately spin around and take full flight towards the goals.
With his pursuers closing in, Daw let fly from the 50-metre mark with a bomb that needed only once bounce before splitting the posts.
Daw's two-year contract with club runs out at the end of this year.
