Crows stalwart Douglas to retire from AFL

Adelaide stalwart Richard Douglas will play his last AFL game on Sunday.

Douglas, 32, has announced he'll retire after the clash against Western Bulldogs in Ballarat.

A veteran of 245 AFL games, Douglas was recruited as pick No.16 in the 2005 national draft.

"I arrived at the club as a teenager and the many people past and present who make it such a special place have played a significant role in shaping the person I am today," Douglas told Adelaide's website on Thursday.

"I'll miss the day-to-day things that come with being part of a professional footy environment but I am also excited about the next phase of my life."

Douglas, who won Adelaide's club champion award in 2010, is the second Crow to announce his retirement this week, following teammate Andy Otten.
