Crows look to overcome Hobart form hiccup

Adelaide coach Don Pyke hopes to write off his side's 59-point trouncing and first loss of the AFL season as an aberration.

The ladder-leaders were outclassed in Hobart on Saturday, where challengers North Melbourne raced to a 64-0 lead at the first break and won 22.13 (145) to 13.8 (86).

"Our pressure, which has been one of the strong points of our game, we didn't bring that," Pyke said of the Crows' performance at Bellerive Oval.

"Our tackling was down and our contested numbers were poor early."

Adelaide's highlight in the southern capital was Eddie Betts' 500th career goal, which was the first of three as he top-scored for the Crows.

Otherwise, the game will be subject to serious review by club management over the next week.

"Clearly it's going to require response and that's the challenge for us as a group now, is to accept that what we put out wasn't the level we wanted and certainly wasn't representative of the footy we've played throughout the year," Pyke said.

Adding to the Crows' woes was a concussion suffered by midfielder Tom Lynch, who may miss next round's clash with Melbourne.

"We will monitor him during the week and see whether he will be available," the coach said.
