Collingwood coach Craig McRae refuses to guarantee Jordan De Goey return
Collingwood coach Craig McRae has refused to confirm whether Jordan De Goey will ever pull on the black and white stripes again after being stood down last month.
The 25-year-old was charged with punching and kicking a 37-year-old man at a Halloween party in New York and is due to face court on December 8.
De Goey had initially travelled to the United States to undergo a rigorous training regime to help him build off a strong finish to the 2021 season, where he ended the year in the Magpies' midfield.

However, his latest off-field drama has now put a halt on his career, with his coach unable to determine when he would be back.

"Time will tell on [De Goey's return], there's a bit to play out," McRae told reporters on Monday.
"It's a little bit premature to say whether he'll be back here training and the like. But one thing I will say is [I'm] just touching base with Jordy regularly to make sure he's OK.
"Over my journey working with some great coaches I've learnt that you just want to make sure the person's OK and care for the person first."
While De Goey has been stood down by Collingwood, the club is yet to determine its next steps with him. McRae said he expects De Goey back in the next few weeks.

"At the moment I'm making sure that when the opportunity presents - if it presents - that Jordy will feel well-supported," he said.
"I want all our players, not just Jordy, to feel that I've got their back and show the love and support where it's needed.
"One thing I've probably learned over this period in particular is to just be patient and let the facts come before you pass judgement.
"I'll just let that take its own course, but (I'm) more concerned about Jordy's wellbeing. I've just been touching base with him regularly and I know he's training hard over there now."
