AFL: De Goey screamer sparks all-in brawl
The Collingwood Magpies have been drawn into an all-in brawl with the Giants following a Jordan De Goey goal on the half-time siren.
De Goey’s goal offered the Pies an inch of breathing room to go up 33-25 as a rampant GWS mounted a brave comeback after falling behind early in the first-quarter.
Breathing down Collingwood’s neck, the Giants looked to close out the half only a point down.
But when De Goey slipped away from his markers to boot one through on the hooter tensions boiled over.

Both teams were engulfed in the melee which sent the MCG into pandemonium.
“They’re coming from everywhere,” commentator Luke Darcy said.
“This has got all-in brawl all over it!
“Players are coming from everywhere; it is a genuine all-in scrap!”
GWS returned from the sheds and quickly earned a six-point lead over the Magpies.
