St Kilda legend Danny Frawley killed in single-car crash near Ballarat
Former St Kilda captain Danny Frawley has tragically died in a single-car crash a day after his 56th birthday.
Frawley died at the scene after his car crashed into a tree in Millbrook, 20 kilometres east of Ballarat at approximately 1.30pm on Monday.
There was no one else in the car at the time of the crash and the cause of the crash is still yet to be determined.
Police believe Frawley's car hit a tree at the intersection of Old Melbourne and Sullivans Road.

Frawley played 240 games for the Saints between 1984 and 1995 and captained the club between 1987 and 1994.
The rugged defender also represented Victoria 11 times while being named an All-Australian in 1988.
Following his time as a player, Frawley made the transition to the coaching caper, coaching Richmond in 113 games between 2000 and 2004.
It was under Frawley's leadership that the Tigers reached the preliminary final in 2001, a stage the club would not reach again until it won a premiership two seasons ago.

Following his stint with the Tigers, Frawley served as a part-time assistant to Alastair Clarkson at Hawthorn in 2008 and 2009, before undertaking a part-time role as a defensive coach for St Kilda in 2014.
Frawley's nephew, James Frawley, currently plays for Hawthorn and was a member of the side's 2015 premiership side.
After leaving coaching, Frawley moved into the AFL media, with roles as a commentator and a media personality for Nine, Triple M, SEN and Fox Footy.
He also served as the chief executive of the AFL Coaches Association until May 2014 and was a member of the All-Australian selection panel for multiple seasons.
Nicknamed 'Spud' due to his upbringing on a potato farm, Frawley was a revered figure both on and off the field, particularly in his role as a mental health advocate.
Frawley was a native of Bungaree, a town near Ballarat, and is survived by his wife Anita and three daughters.
