AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 5
It's already Round 5 in the AFL, and the tips are flowing altogether too quickly for some. Here at Wide World of Sports, we're sorting you out with AFL tips from our experts each and every week, courtesy of our mates at the Footy Show.
Last week was a generally good week, with nothing less than 5, and nothing more than six from all of our expert tipsters. Crawf and Rebecca closed the gap on Billy with sixes, while everyone else kept it pretty honest at the top.
We don't really know why Sam tipped Brisbane. You'll have to ask him.
This week we're confronted with a number of juicy games, which are attracting a bit of controversy and disagreement among the group.
One of the key contests comes on Saturday night, with the two Sydney teams facing off at the SCG. Will the Swans finally get it right, having started 0-4, or are this year's Giants simply too much of a force?
Shane Crawford was adamant that game is only going to go one way.
"GWS will smash the Swans."
The panel agrees, except for Sam who picked big brother to get one over their little brother.
Fremantle North Melbourne, the late Saturday game, is another one dividing the tipsters, with plenty of questions around whether the resurgence of the Dockers is the real deal or just an aberration. And what to make of North Melbourne?
"Freo will beat North at home. Three in a row, can you believe that?" Crawf said.
We couldn't have before the season kicked off, no.
Sunday, Monday and Anzac Day promises to be a festival of footy, with four tough games back-to-back.
Can Hawthorn get the job done against West Coast? Crawford thinks his Hawks "aren't so mighty at the moment."
"I think the Hawks... no I don't. I think the West Coast Eagles will beat my mighty Hawks."
Richmond and Melbourne, two truly resurgent teams, should be a cracker at the 'G. Watch the video above to see the crowd's reaction to that one.
The traditional Essendon vs Collingwood game on Anzac Day will no doubt be another memorable occasion.
"Collingwood will get up against the Bombers on Anzac Day."
