AFL Expert tips and predictions: Round 4
We're back with another edition of AFL expert tips and predictions, and there's no doubt that the crew from The Footy Show will be hoping for an easier round than last.
In a true tipster's nightmare, the Gold Coast Suns somehow turned it on to blast away the Hawks by nearly 100 points, and Melbourne turned the tap on to see Carlton defeat the high-flying Bombers in a slugfest at the G. It was a torrid time for the players, but no one thinks of the tipsters, who had just as much of a struggle.
Somehow, Billy Brownless was able to gaze into the crystal ball and foresee the Suns flogging Hawthorn, but we reckon not many would have selected the right team in that game.
What that means for the AFL expert tips leaderboard is that Billy gets a cushion from Bec at the top, with Dave and Crawf trailing the two of them.
This week Crawf will be hoping for an improved performance, and he's up once again for our video.
He's convinced that the Magpies playing the Saints will be one of the games of the round.
"It's a real line ball. I think Nathan Buckley has Collingwood structuring up well. They did defeat the Swans in a very good game last week and I think that form will flow on.
Dustin Martin is perhaps the biggest winner out of this week's AFL tips, with Crawf telling the world in no uncertain terms just how highly he rates the Richmond star.
"Martin will have another 30-plus, will probably kick three and will win the Brownlow Medal the way he's going."
He was less enthusiastic about the performance of Hawthorn last week, but thinks they'll bounce back in what's sure to be a close game
"They were very disappointing against the mighty Cats.
"I think last week they had an off one. We all have bad days.
"The Hawks will win in a really close game. These two rivals play amazing matches, and I've just got a feeling Alistair Clarkson will fire up the Hawks, and they'll have their first win for 2017."
Crawf's words would encourage Western Bulldogs supporters as well.
"I'm going to tip the Dogs to bounce back after a very disappointing performance last week. Very good team the Western Bulldogs."
And finally, he had plenty of good things to say about GWS.
"The Giants for me are going to win the premiership.
"So if you're thinking that they're going to beat Port Adelaide, who are a pretty good side. They're tough.
"It won't be an easy game."
