AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 13
It's Round 13 of the AFL, and our experts have lodged their AFL tips for the week.
Last week saw a state of upheaval in the AFL tipping heirarchy, with Bec Maddern relinquishing her lead for the first time in a while, watching Dave Hughes and Billy Brownless shoot right past her.
Generally speaking it was a tough week, with a couple of our panel getting only one solitary tip right, but thankfully for Billy Brownless he shot ahead with six correct selections.
So following the trend, it will be our fearless man in the hotseat to tag along with again this week, with Billy hoping to continue his hot streak that's led him to the top.
In such a close competition, weeks like last week will be telling at the end of the day. It looks as though there will be some similar movement this week, with plenty of difference among our panel over who's going to get over who.
With just six games this week, but six beauties, it promises to be a cracker for the fans.
Geelong and West Coast have divided the panel, but not Cats great Billy Brownless,
"It's going to be a beauty over there in Perth. The pussycats will keep going - they're flying."
North Melbourne up against St Kilda has proved similarly divisive, but Billy thinks it's an open and shut case of the Roos struggling and the Saints just getting over the top of them.
The resurgent Sydney face up against the Tigers, a game Billy's looking forward to.
"This is a good game. Alex Rance versus Buddy (Franklin).
"I'm really looking forward to this one."
That about ends the differences in the panel with almost everyone selecting Port Adelaide, Western Bulldogs and Gold Coast to beat their opponents. Bec and Shane don't agree, both selecting Melbourne to beat the defending premiers and Dave Hughes electing to choose Carlton over the Gold Coast.
Billy sees why, sniffing an upset but still electing to go with the Gold Coast.
"They're going well at the moment, the Blues. Well done to that team."
