Adelaide Crows star Rory Sloane and wife Belinda have celebrated Father’s Day in a poignant moment, following the recent news their first child was stillborn.

Mum Belinda took to Instagram on Sunday to share an intimate photo of her husband cradling Leo Rory Sloane as the family grapples with the heartbreaking loss of their first-born son.

“Happy Father’s Day to our hero,” Belinda commented on the photo.

“Leo and I love you.”

Leo was tragically stillborn in late August with the Crows midfielder missing the last game of the season against Carlton.

The couple shared the news with identical photos on Instagram which showed them holding the hand of baby Leo.

"Last week we said goodbye to our beautiful little man," the Adelaide Crows player, 28, and Channel 7 presenter both wrote.

"Leo Rory Sloane was born into the world still, but perfect.
