West Coast coach Adam Simpson unleashes on players after 97-point loss to Geelong
West Coast coach Adam Simpson has lashed his team over an "embarrassing" performance after copping a 97-point hiding at the hands of Geelong.
Despite the match being billed as a clash of premiership contenders, the Eagles were second best after the quarter-time siren as the Cats slammed on 19 goals in the final three quarters.

Following the match, Simpson did not mince words when assessing his team's showing.
"We got annihilated in every aspect of the game, which is really disappointing. It was embarrassing performance after quarter-time," Simpson said post-game. "You get what you deserve, really."

"We got blown away in the second quarter. It was really embarrassing.
"Absolutely no excuses for what we did today. We looked weak."
To make matters worse for Simpson, veteran defender Jeremy McGovern was substituted out of the game in the second quarter with a groin injury.
Simpson will hope that his Eagles can rebound in Round Seven when they take on their cross-town rivals Fremantle in the Western Derby next weekend.
