76ers fan flips bird at Russell Westbrook

A Philadelphia 76ers fan was escorted out of Wells Fargo Centre on Thursday(AEDT) after yelling ‘F—k you’, while showing his middle fingers, to Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook during his side’s season opener against the 76ers.

The incident occurred midway through the first quarter with the Thunder uncharacteristically trailing the home side by 11-points.

Westbrook, driving in the paint, managed to bag one off an acrobatic layup but when his landing took him close to the court-side fans one 6ers faithful took matters into his own hands, and fingers.

The portly middle-aged man rose from his seat metres from the Thunder point guard and thrust his middle-fingers toward his face, bellowing the profanity.

Refusing to be baited, a respectable Westbrook seemingly bemused by the situation, simply motioned to the referee while apathetically pointing-out the trash-talker.

“Shot’s good, and-one…as the fan welcomes him to Philadelphia there,” quipped the commentator.

As the Thunder rushed behind in support of their point guard a noticeable aggrieved Steve Adams had some choice words amid a stern leer for the fan.

Though, it would be Westbrook who was to have the last laugh as the Thunder came-back to 103-97 victory as the man was escorted from the stadium for his rather unceremonious welcome.
