101-year-old runner claims gold in World Masters Games
Just to prove good things do still happen in the world, a 101-year-old runner has come along and given everyone a reason to smile.
Indian sprinter Man Kaur needed 1 minute 14.58 seconds to cover the 100m and claim her gold medal at the World Masters Games in New Zealand. The time didn’t matter – it was the achievement that melted the hearts of those in attendance.
We'll ignore the fact she was the only runner in that event. She still had to cross the line to claim her own piece of history - and she did.

Kaur, who sported a special number of 10001 for the track meet, was rightfully lauded after crossing the finishing line.
She made sure she kept warm by wearing a tracksuit for her run – a wise decision for New Zealand in late April.
