While robot vacuums seem to solve a world of problems by offering hands-free cleaning, many have hang-ups about how they can't do everything. Robot vacuums can't climb (or really vacuum) stairs, and the circular design of most of them means that corners often go unvacuumed. For this reason, you might feel like you need a hand-held or stick vacuum to get your entire place spotless.

However, the Eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20 is here to resolve those issues. A detachable battery and dustbin, it powers both a robot vacuum and a stick vacuum, which can be turned into a hand-held with two smaller tool attachments. And for just $999, three vacuum options make for amazing value.

How does it work?

If you're looking at the picture and thinking this looks like two separate vacuums – I was thinking the same not long ago. And while the robot and stick vacuum portion of the product are entirely separate, they're connected by a removable battery that unites them. This is attached to the dustbin, which is also shared by the two vacuums.

This is particularly innovative, as hooking the battery to the robot vacuum means the dustbin can be emptied, hands-free, while the robot is in its charging dock.

Breaking down the features

Robot vacuum obstacle avoidance

The Eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20 has cutting-edge technology when it comes to obstacle avoidance. With a LiDAR system for precision navigation, it can come within millimetres of an obstacle and change course, ensuring as much of the floor below is cleaned in the process. As long as an obstacle is over 1.5cm in height (think shoes, toys, etc.), it'll be able to glide around it.

Suction power for each cleaning need

Trust that even the grittiest floors can be cleaned when using the Eufy E20, which has 30000Pa max suction power for handheld cleaning. This means it's most effective in handheld mode, but also has 8000Pa in robot mode. The robot is perfect for general cleaning while you're going about your day, and the stick vacuum is better used dealing with bigger messes.

Auto-emptying

When it comes to the Eufy E20, a three-litre bag will last you up to 75 days. You empty the debris from the charging dock, with the handheld, stick, and robot options all auto-emptying into the same spot. This means you empty the debris just once every two and a half months.

Attachments

The 'handheld' aspect of the vacuum has both a small brush head and a crevice tool, so you can clean in those hard-to-reach spots as easily as you can clean the floors. Think corners of the ceiling, along baseboards, or on countertops if you have a spill.

App navigation

The accompanying app helps you control the robot vacuum. You can schedule cleaning, designate no-go zones, and view a map of your home to track the progress of the robot if you'd like it to clean while you're out.

AeroTurbo filtration

The Eufy E20 has a five-stage filtration system, which uses five advanced cyclone structures to capture 99.97 per cent of particles. This makes for a fresher environment in the home.

Price

The Eufy E20 costs $999.99. While it's not cheap, keep in mind you're getting three vacuum types in the one purchase, which is a sure way to keep your place spotless.
