I don't know about you, but I hate vacuuming.

It is time-consuming, labour-intensive, and the stream of hot air that radiates off the vacuum sends me into an overstimulated hot flush every. single. time.

Surely there's gotta be another way?!

Enter: The robot vacuum... once seen as a gimmicky piece of tech that is now revolutionising the way people clean their homes.

But with so many on the market, at a range of price points, sifting through to find the best tool for you can be a challenge. Lucky for you, we've put a bunch to the test here at 9Product Reviews, and we're more than happy to share our findings.

From high-end to budget, here are some of our favourite robot vacuums that will transform your daily clean.

Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

"I had the chance to put the shiny new Ecovacs Deebot X1 OmniCyclone Robot Vacuum to the test, to see if it lived up to the hype... and I am happy to report, it did.

Now, I knew the job I was giving the OmniCyclone was no easy feat, with multiple different surfaces, pokey corners, and a staircase that, if not careful, could lead to poor Deebot plummeting down a flight of stairs.

Upon the first mapping, I was super impressed with how intuitive the sensor was. With a series of obstacles throughout the space, I was pleasantly surprised to see how easily it pieced together the room it would soon be cleaning.

The OmniCyclone handled the task with ease, ensuring to switch between the mop and vacuum functions when moving on and off carpeted surfaces.

I am rarely home during the day, so most of the cleaning took place at night, which was no problem for the machine, as it has an auto light feature that illuminated its path, as well as any hidden dust and dirt particles that otherwise seemed invisible to the naked eye.

Another perk for my nightly cleaning was that the vacuum itself is super quiet, making little to no noise at all. However, when it comes time to empty the dust bin or clean the mop roller, it's very loud. Because the surface area of the space being cleaned was quite large, in a regular cleaning cycle, it took itself back to the dock at least 4 or 5 times, which means there was no escaping the noise.

I also think it's worth noting that the dock is understandably quite bulky, as it needs to house all of the self-cleaning mechanics. For some, this may not be an issue at all, but for those who are short on space, finding somewhere to keep it out of sight may pose a challenge.

All in all, I loved my time with the OmniCyclone, and it did all the grunt work so I could spend the afternoons enjoying myself, without having to worry about cleaning." - Lisa

Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra

"As someone who finds vacuuming therapeutic, I was hesitant to introduce a robot vac into my life, but boy, was I so wrong. The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra knows how to clean. Sure, the first few runs around the house, I watched it like a hawk, but once I knew I could trust it, I haven't missed manually cleaning at all.

Through Roborock's intuitive app, you can schedule your cleans, ban it from certain rooms and receive alerts when it's time to add clean water or empty the dirty water tank.

I have a mix of floorboards, tiles and carpet, and it cleverly switches between all three without missing a single bit of dirt – it features 10000pa HyperForce suction power that's industry-leading. "The DJI Romo P handled vacuuming and mopping effortlessly in my house. The overall experience of this robot was extremely refined and easy to control. In fact, you can go so far as to have a deep clean of up to six hours of constant back-and-forth sucking and scrubbing if you really want to go that far.

A big standout of the machine, aside from its fantastic controls, is the mopping. The machine will auto-dispense either a degreasing solution or a deodorising solution, depending on the cleaning mode you select. Thanks to its mopping system, the floors are left spotless.

One thing to note before you purchase is that there was a security breach and concern with the robots, which you can read more about here. But in terms of raw performance, the robot vacuum cleaner did very well." - Joshua

Lefant M2 Robot Vacuum and Mop

"I finally got a robot vacuum for Christmas, and I am obsessed with it!

I got the Lefant M2, and it's been great for vacuuming my 2-bedroom apartment. I can send it out for a full clean or just to specific rooms from the comfort of my phone, and it can do the whole unit without having to recharge or Lefant M2 halfway through.

I do think it would struggle with a bigger place, and it's definitely a bit more effective on hard flooring compared to carpet, but it's perfect for my place. I'm so attached, I've even named it and refer to it as my 'robot son'." - Maddison

"I was a complete robot vacuum newbie before my partner and I spotted the Ecovacs Deebot N8 on sale on Amazon. Living in a small one-bedroom apartment, we felt like this was the perfect solution to keep on top of our cleaning, without taking up a huge amount of space.

Featuring a powerful suction, laser mapping, and super simple controls through the app, we can control everything from sending Deebot to specific rooms, giving it exclusion zones, and sending it back home to the dock when we're done.

The dust bin on the vacuum is quite small, so we often have to empty it after every clean or so, but this feels like an easy trade-off given how much time we're saving on cleaning the floors." - Lisa

Narwal Flow Robotic Vacuum and Mop

"I've been testing the Narwal Flow for over 110 days now. It's their Narwal Flow, and it performs incredibly well in a family house with two pets. The robot is incredibly intelligent with its mapping and obstacle detection. The vacuuming and mopping both do a seriously good job if you have it on deep cleaning mode.

The only real con is the software itself, and I do have occasional internet issues with it. Otherwise, if you're willing to spend, I would say it's great for large families who need an extra hand with daily maintenance." - Joshua
