Luckily, it's our job to test these things out to give you our honest opinion on what's hot and what's not.

One of these new pieces of kitchen tech is the Ninja Crispi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer. It's described as a powerhouse that fires the power of a full-sized air fryer in a compact and portable design. It comes with a small 1.4L and a larger 3.8L glass container, so you can crisp up snacks for one or make a whole meal for a group.

So, was it worth it?

The Ninja Crispi is a glass air fryer system designed to handle your entire cooking process from start to finish: prep, cook, store, and reheat.

It has been designed to make your life easier: limit transferring food between dishes and reduce the post-cooking cleanup. The path is simple: prep your food in the glass containers, cook it, and then move everything into the fridge.

What I loved about it

• Ease: The set-up took a matter of minutes – no waiting for the oven to heat up here. And once you've finished cooking, it's easy to disassemble, with only the glass dish needing to be washed.
• Saves on cooking time: Instead of waiting for my oven to heat up (which can take around 15 minutes), I can get food cooking from the get-go. All this time adds up during a busy week.
• Four-in-one: The Ninja Crispi has versatile functionality; it can air fry, roast, reheat, and keep warm, all from one device.
• Cook literally whatever you want: In this little device, you can cook almost anything – you can roast a whole chicken, bake croissants and cookies, or crisp up some party snacks in minutes.
• Versatile serving sizes: Whether you're crisping up a snack for one or catering to a group, you can use the 3.8L container for larger portions and the 1.4L container for single-serve options.
• Take it on the move: You can park this beauty up in your work kitchen to crisp up your work lunches, or you can cook from home and pop the lid on the container to take it with you to a BBQ or gathering.
• Glass containers: I prefer glass containers to plastic. They solve the issue of food sticking to the basket of a typical air fryer, and it also means you can enjoy PFAS-free (non-toxic) cooking. You can also watch what you're cooking as you would with an oven, to prevent anything from burning.
• Comes with inspiration: As with any Ninja product, it came with a complete how-to guide, which includes plenty of different recipes to kick-start your Crispi journey. I love that the brand does this because sometimes my brain really can't think for itself!

My only issues

• Size: While not a huge problem for me as a single person, the containers aren't that big. So, if you're cooking for a family or a larger group, you may struggle with this. It's also quite clunky to keep out on the kitchen surface. I store mine in a drawer, but this is something to bear in mind if you're already tight on space.
• Container weight: The glass containers are quite heavy, so I wouldn't always want to use them to transport my meals if I'm commuting.

The final verdict

I'll admit it: I love a Ninja product. While I wouldn't class this as a necessity per se, it's a great little kitchen addition for those who want to streamline their prepping, cooking, and storing process.

If you're a small household and are yet to invest in an air fryer (or just want one that's easier and more compact), the Ninja Crispi would be a great option for you. It can be used on any occasion: for hosting, weeknight dinners, weekend treats, and meal prep.

But if you prefer to cook bigger meals with multiple components simultaneously at different temperatures, I anticipate that the single-pot limitation will start to frustrate you.
